Funeral services for Travis David Apperson, 92, of Ashburn, GA will be held at 3:00 PM, Monday, December 23, 2019 at Perry Funeral Chapel. Mr. Apperson passed away Saturday at his residence following an extended illness. Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
The son of the late Oscar Jack and Eliza Jane Lavender Apperson, he was born in Sylvester, GA. He was an Ordained Minister in The Assemblies of God and was a member of The Tifton Assembly of God. He was a faithful leader in Assemblies of God Missionary construction work and visited in third world countries where he touched many people and brought them to know God. He was so proud of his family and their salvation. He was the retired owner of Apperson Concrete Co. and also he enjoyed his pecan grove harvesting.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife and mother of his children, Mary Ellen Little Apperson; his siblings, Theodore Apperson, Jackie McIntyre, Earlene Seago, Verlin Williams and Jean Yarbrough.
His is survived by his children, Cheryl Mason, Cordele; Rene (Greg) Adams, Ashburn; Teresa (Brian) Mercer, Ashburn; David (Rosa) Apperson, Miami, FL; Norman (Marie) Apperson, Ashburn and Greg Adams, Ashburn.
His grandchildren, Brandon Adams, Bethany Adams, Autumn Adams, Michelle Hughes, Melody Mason, Melissa Mason, Ginger Fowler, Nicole Jennings, Christy Holbrook, Kelly Thompson, Brenden Blalock, Joshua Apperson and Caitlyn Apperson. His great grandchildren, Travis Hughes, Andrew Hughes, Kaylynn Adams, Lily Bratton, Tommy Perry, Will Evans, Melinda Rachels, Blade Marshall, McKenna Johnson and Whitney Hires.
The family will receive friends, Sunday afternoon from 5:00 till 7:00 at Perry Funeral Chapel.
