Billy D. Lewis, 77, of Sycamore passed away Thursday, March 5, 2020 at Tift Regional Medical Center.
Billy was born on November 20, 1942 in Crisp County to the late Samuel Jackson Lewis and Christine McKinney Lewis Avery. He retired from Universal Forest Products where he was a supervisor. He was also a member of the Tift Avenue Church of God. Billy served his country with honor in the United States Navy. Billy enjoyed fishing, gardening and spending time with his only grandson, Christopher.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Wynelle Fitzgerald Lewis of Sycamore; sons, Dwane (Kippy) Lewis of Ashburn and Danny (Catherine) Lewis of Sycamore; grandchildren, Olivia (Jake) Fountain of Tifton, Lacey Lewis of Ashburn, Catherine Lewis (James) Barnes of Charlotte, North Carolina, Christopher Lewis of Tifton, Rusty Roberts of Tifton and Kaylie Roberts of Norman Park.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM Saturday, March 7, 2020 at Perry Funeral Chapel. Private interment will follow in the Bethel Cemetery Annex. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:30 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
