Stonewall “Stump” Jackson Perry, 11, of Ashburn, went to join his daddy and master, Charles Butler Perry, Monday, May 25, 2020.
Stump was given to Charles B. Perry as a birthday gift from his children and grandchildren on May 4, 2009. Stump was born in Mariana, FL. and had a forever loving home and community in Ashburn. It was the best birthday gift Charles ever received. The joy and love Stump brought to Charles and Barbara Anne was immeasurable.
Stump was a friend to everyone he met. He enjoyed going to the Skillet Festival and The Fire Ant Festival each year to see his many fans around town. As Head of Public Relations and Security at Perry Funeral Chapel, he greeted the many visitors he was certain came to see him and only him. When not greeting visitors at the office, he could be found napping on the office sofa.
Stump’s hobbies included playing with Heidi, Fitz, Huck, and Shiloh, barking at squirrels, and getting as many treats as he wanted. He enjoyed going everywhere that Charles and Barbara Anne went. When he couldn’t travel with them, his favorite place to stay was with his second mama, Elizabeth and Heidi. The love and happiness Stump brought to so many people will never be forgotten. He left a paw print on his family’s heart. The only comfort the family can take in this is that Lumpsy will be back with his daddy and master, Charles.
What a beautiful world it would be if everyone had a heart like Stump’s.
