Robert Farmer, 84, of Sycamore passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at Health and Rehabilitation Center of South Georgia in Tifton.
Robert was born on October 9, 1935 in Sycamore to the late Roy Milton, Jr. and Pauline Bruton Farmer. He served his country with honor in the United States Army during the Korean War. Robert enjoyed fishing, driving tour buses and watching the Fox News Channel.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Avie Nash Farmer of Sycamore; daughter, Becky Land of Hawkinsville; son, Jim Farmer of Vienna; sister, Lucille Brooks of Punto Gorda, Florida; sisters-in-law, Dot Farmer of Ashburn and Bobbie Brooks of Sycamore; grandchildren, Danielle Land and Courtney Land; great-grandson, L. J. McNair. He is also survived by his blended family of children including his daughters, Amy (Shanon) Stephens of Moultrie and Becky (Mike) Meadows of Lake Park; son, Durward Lastinger, Jr. of Adel; grandchildren, Lauren Lastinger, Seth Stephens, Riley Stephens, Beckham Meadows and Jude Meadows. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Harvey Farmer, J. T. Farmer, J. C. Farmer, Roy Farmer, Jr., Talmadge Farmer and Charles Farmer; sisters, Violet Young and Leola Morris.
A memorial service for Robert will be held at a later date.
