Funeral services for Charles D. Gibbs, age 69, of 325 E. Madison Ave., Ashburn will be held Tuesday, February 28, 2005, at 4:00 P. M. at the Ashburn First Baptist Church with burial to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. Mr. Gibbs died Sunday at his residence after a brief illness.

Mr. Gibbs was a native and lifelong resident of Turner County the son of Alice Clyde Hamilton Gibbs of Ashburn and the late Charlie Barton Gibbs. He was retired from the U. S. M. C. Logistic Base, Albany and served in the U. S. Army. He was a member of the Ashburn First Baptist Church the Gilbert Branch Sunday School Class and enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Survivors include his wife Pat Gibbs of Ashburn, his daughters, April Cunningham, Cordele, Ga., Dawn Elliott, Ashburn, Ga. and Penny Wilkerson, Rebecca, Ga., and his mother Alice Clyde Hamilton Gibbs, Ashburn and two sisters Jane Morris, Dawson, Ga. and Gail Reed, Ashburn. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Ryan Wilkerson, Savannah, Ga., Kyle Wilkerson, Rebecca, Ga., Kaitlyn Elliott and Kent Elliott of Ashburn, Sara Cunningham and Lochlan Cunningham of Cordele, Ga.

Family will receive friends at Perry Funeral Chapel of Ashburn from seven until nine Monday evening.
