Wade Ellis Keen, 74, of Abbeville passed away Saturday, October 10, 2020 at Tift Regional Medical Center.
Wade was born in Abbeville on December 27, 1945 to the late Paul Silas and Ima C. Bowman Keen. He was a member of Siloam Baptist Church, a Mason with Sycamore Lodge #210 and a Shriner with the Hasan Temple in Albany. He was the former owner and operator of Family Grill in Ashburn as well as the owner and operator of Sears in Ashburn. Wade was a bus driver for the Turner County Board of Education and retired from the Coffee County Road Department. He also worked for the Turner County Road Department.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Jo Keen of Abbeville; son, Stacy (Vicky) Keen of Ashburn; step-son, Billy Stone of Byron; brothers, Charlie (Marion) Keen of Cochran, Bobby (Nell) Keen of Abbeville, Jake ( Linda) Keen of Abbeville, Eddie (Charlotte) Keen of Abbeville and Andrews (Shelia) Keen of Abbeville; grandchildren, Ellis (Kim) Keen of Tifton and Brooke (Sumner) McWhorter of Ocilla; step-grandchildren, Heather Stone of Douglas, Chris Stone of Douglas, Cecilia "Jr." Garcia of Douglas, Litzy Alejos of Douglas and Jacob Stone of Byron; great-grandchildren, Ellie Keen of Tifton and Lana Keen of Tifton; step-great-grandchild, Addilynn Hulite of Douglas.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings, Rheba Smith and Ray Keen.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 13, 2020 in Siloam Cemetery in Wilcox County. Masks are required and social distancing rules will be strictly enforced.
