Rev. Kenneth Kicklighter, 89, of Sycamore passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Tift Regional Hospital in Tifton.

Rev. Kicklighter was born on November 27, 1931 in Blackshear to the late Thomas Alvin and Willie Mae Peacock Kicklighter. He served his country with honor in the United States Army. Preacher Kicklighter was a retired Baptist minister having served at New Harmony Baptist Church and Liberty Baptist Church in DeFuniak Springs, Florida as well as Kingwood Baptist Church in Moultrie and Bethel Baptist Church in Sycamore. He also served as a Supply Pastor meeting the needs of many churches when he was called upon. He served on the board and was a trustee for the Baptist Village in Waycross and served on the hospital board for the Georgia Baptist Conference. He was named the Turner County Citizen of the Year in 1994 and won the Turner County Golden Deeds Award. Preacher Kicklighter was an avid fisherman and loved fishing with family and friends, especially his grandsons. His greatest love was spending time with family and friends. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Sycamore.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Iris Kicklighter of Sycamore; daughters, Karen (Olis) Davis of Sycamore and Venita (Mark) Sandifer of Tifton; sons, Neal (Glenda) Kicklighter of Sycamore and Kevin (Jill) Kicklighter of Sycamore; grandchildren, Lauren (Raymond) Dean, Andrew (Emily) Kicklighter, Jenna (Jordan) Roberts, Kendall (Brittany Fore) Kicklighter, Kensey Kicklighter, Nicolis Davis, Haley Taylor, Kate (Craig) Walton, Tyler (Rachael) Sandifer and Brant (Abbey) Sandifer; eleven great-grandchildren; sister, Patsy (Buddy) Coulby of Jesup; brothers, Dewey (Mary) Kicklighter of Jacksonville, Florida, Donald Kicklighter of Blackshear and A. C. (Mary) Kicklighter of Blackshear; sister-in-law, Glenda Jo Kicklighter of Patterson.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Edison Kicklighter as well as an infant brother and a great-grandson, Judson Roberts.

Funeral services will be private. For those who wish to pay their respects and sign the family's guest register, you may do so Friday, January 8, 2021 from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Perry Funeral Chapel.
