Benjamin "Ben" Williford

Funeral Services for Benjamin “Ben” W. Williford, age 83, of 190 Ben Williford Road, Rebecca will be held at 2:00 P. M. Wednesday at the Amboy Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Mr. Williford died Saturday, March 25, 2006 at Tift Regional Medical Center after a sudden illness.

Mr. Williford was a native of Crisp County, Georgia the son of the late Benjamin G. and Kate Newsome Williford. He lived in Crisp County before moving to Turner County in 1939. He was a retired Farmer and a member of the Woodmen of the World. He was a member of the Amboy Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon, Chairman of the Board of Deacons for a long number of years, served as Sunday School Teacher for the Men’s Class and former Sunday School Director and was a member of the Brotherhood.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Skeet Williford, Garth Williford and Elmer Williford.

He is survived by his wife Juanita Barton Williford, Rebecca, Georgia, his children James Williford, Sycamore, Ga., Elaine W. Cullina, Rebecca, Ga. and Susan W. Phillips, Hiawassee, Georgia, brothers and sisters, Buford Williford, Rebecca, Ga., M. J. “Shorty” Williford, Ashburn, Ga., Virginia Wilkerson, Rebecca, Ga. , and Dorothy Jackson, Cordele, Ga. and eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:30 until 8:30 at the funeral home.
