Funeral Services for Wyolene Ellis Blue, age 96, of Ashburn, will be held at 11:00 A. M. Tuesday, April 18, 2006, at the Ashburn First Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Blue died Sunday at Ashburn Health Care after a long illness.
Mrs. Blue was a native of Calhoun, Georgia the daughter of the late John H. and Murilla Bryant Ellis. She had been a longtime resident of Ashburn and retired owner and operator of Blue’s of Ashburn. She was a member of the Ashburn First Baptist Church, and member of the Samaritan Sunday Class, and taught Sunday School in the Junior Department for long number of years and was past president of the W. M. U. She was a member of the Eastern Star and Charter Member of the National Bridal Service and wrote for the society page of the Wiregrass Farmer. She was preceded in death by her husband Rhodes E. Blue who died in 1981 and one son Leslie L. Blue who died in 1935.
She is survived by her children Wayne Blue and Allen Blue both of Ashburn and one daughter Donna Haggerty of Marietta, Ga. and seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Monday evening at the funeral home from six until eight.
