Lamar Loper, 73, of Ashburn passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia.
Lamar was born on July 4, 1948 in Tifton to the late Jack and Lottie Mae Woodard Loper. He was a member of House of Prayer in Ashburn, Georgia. He served his country with honor in the United States Army serving three tours in Vietnam. Lamar enjoyed old cars and collecting coins. He truly loved his work as an insurance agent and was a very kind and loving Christian man.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Barbara Whiddon Loper of Ashburn; sons, Todd (Dianne) Greene of Hawthorne, Florida and John (Angie) Greene of Monroe, Georgia; sisters, Geraldine L. (Billy) Phelps of Ashburn, Georgia and Erline L. (Bob) Coates of Flowery Branch, Georgia. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Michelle Loper and his brother, George Loper.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, December 17, 2021 at House of Prayer with interment to follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Friday at House of Prayer.
