Wayne Wynn, 76, of Sycamore passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at his residence.
Wayne was born in Irwin County on March 21, 1945 to the late Venton Charles, Sr. and Effie Mae Nelson Wynn. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. Wayne was a self-employed farmer. He was a hard-worker who enjoyed woodworking, especially building birdhouses. In 1992 he was named the Ashburn Bank Outstanding Farmer Of The Year and in 2002, along with his sons Mike and Stacy, was awarded the Turner County Farm Family of the Year. He also earned the FFA American Farmer Degree.
He is survived by his wife, Karen S. Wynn of Sycamore; sons, Mike (Lindsey) Wynn of Irwinville and Stacy (Kassi) Wynn of Arabi; sisters, Jeanene (Ronnie) Rainey of Sycamore and Jayne (Curt) Pylant of Sycamore; sister-in-law, Margene Wynn of Sycamore. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Pamela Wynn Speight and his brother, Bug Wynn.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, February 18, 2022 at Bethel Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
