Raleigh J. Griffin

Funeral Services for Raleigh J. Griffin, age 76, of 620 West Inaha Road, Sycamore, Ga. will he held at 10:00 A. M. Thursday at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Tift County, Ga. with burial to follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Ashburn, Ga. Mr. Griffin died Tuesday, August 22, 2006, at his residence after a long illness.

Mr. Griffin was a native of Tift County, Ga. the son of the late Henry Anderson and Frankie Van Cravey Griffin. He was retired Civil Service Employee from Moody Air Force Base in aircraft sheet metal department. He was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church and had served in the U. S. Navy.

He is survived by his wife Sara Adams Griffin, Sycamore, Ga.; a son and daughter-in-law Carroll & Connie Griffin, Tifton, Ga. and a daughter Frankie Griffin, Sycamore, Ga. and a grandchild Chad Griffin, Tifton, Ga.; and three sisters Hester Whiddon, Ashburn, Ga.; Frances Womack, Tifton, Ga. and Millie Gilmore, Albany, Ga.

He was preceded in death by six brothers, Henry Griffin, Charles Griffin, Benjamin Griffin, R. D. Griffin, Ronald Griffin, and Ralph Griffin, and two sisters Elizabeth Carrington and Dorris Graves.

The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 P.M. Wednesday evening at Perry Funeral Chapel.
