J. T. Yown

Funeral Services for Mr. J. T. Yown, age 83, of Ashburn will be held Friday at 2:30 P. M. at Perry Funeral Chapel with burial to follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Mr. Yown died Tuesday, September 12, 2006 at his residence after a sudden illness.

Mr. Yown was a native of Tift County, Ga. the son of the late Joe T. & Minnie Easter Brooks Yown. He was a retired truck driver and a member of the Church of God of Prophecy, Cordele, Ga. and had been a resident of Ashburn for seven years.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Sara Virginia King Yown, Ashburn, three sons J. L. & Linda Yown, Chula,; Jerry A. & Cindy Yown, Ashburn and Raymond Yown, Inaha, and a daughter Vera Ellis, Calhoun, Ga. three sisters Willie Marchant, Tifton,; Mary Y. Woodard, TyTy and Mammie Lee Pate, Chula, 10 Grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren and 7 step-great-grandchildren. Also several Nieces and Nephews that loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by two brothers Leonard Laseter and Henry Laseter and three sisters, Ruby Sumner, Annie Mae Summer and Thelma Horne.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening Six until Eight P. M. at the funeral home.
