Funeral Services for Mr. Hubert Watson, 85, of Ashburn, GA. will be at 3:00 PM, Friday, November 3, 2006 at Perry Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Mr. Watson passed away Wednesday at his residence following a brief illness.
The son of the late Willie W. and Dicie Lee Wheeler Watson, he was born in Turner Co. and was retired from the U. S. Postal Service as a rural mail carrier. He was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He was affect ional known as the “Mayor of Deep Creek”. He served in the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda W. Gilreath, his sisters, Ada Perry, Edna Coleman, Floy Nix, Annie Wiggins, Jewel Truluck and Mary Alice King, his brothers, Clinton Watson and W. A. Watson.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Kelly Watson of Ashburn, his sons, Hugh Watson and Tim (Donna) Watson, both of Ashburn, his daughters, Gail W. (Greg) Walls of Ashburn, Brenda Brandt of Sylvester, Pamela (Al) Dervan of Leesburg, his step-sons, Danny Ingram and Eddie Ingram both of Ashburn, sixteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:30 till 9:00 at Perry Funeral Chapel.
