William Searcy

Funeral services for William Grayer Searcy, 96, 818 East Inaha Rd., Sycamore, Ga. will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, December 17, 2006 at the Sycamore Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Prospect Cemetery. Mr. Searcy died Friday in Tift Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.

Mr. Searcy was a native and lifelong resident of Turner County. He was the son of the late Will & Etta Mae Royal Searcy. He was a retired farmer and businessman. He was a member of the Sycamore Methodist Church and served as a member of the Turner County Board of Commissioners over a span of 50 years.

Mr. Searcy is survived by his wife of 76 years, Hazel Clements Searcy, Sycamore, Ga. and three grandchildren, Leigh Ann Riley, Albany, Ga., Dawn S. Swanson, Pine Mountain, Ga. and W. Christopher Searcy of Albany, Ga. Also surviving are seven great grandchildren and two sisters, Ruby Barry, Sycamore, Ga. and Sue Myrick, Macon, Georgia.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Chapel.
