Funeral services for Mr. Maredy Daniel “Danny” McCorvey, Sr., 76 of Ashburn will be held 10:00 AM, Friday, January 26, 2007 at the Ashburn First Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Mr. McCorvey passed away Tuesday at a Macon Hospital following a sudden illness.

The son of the late Warren Jackson Daniel and Maggie Belle White McCorvey he was born in Worth Co., GA. but spent most of his life in Turner Co. He was a member of the Ashburn First Baptist Church, where he was a deacon, a member of the Gilbert Branch Sunday School Class, a member of the personnel committee, former member of the finance committee. He was a former President of the Turner Co. Farm Bureau, former member of the Ashburn Turner Co. Chamber of Commerce. He was also former President of the Turner Co. Livestock Association. He was also a Mason and Shriner. Mr. McCorvey was a retired Argi-Businessman. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters, Inez Lumpkin and Lillian Hobby and a brother Clinton McCorvey.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia “Patsy” Reinhardt McCorvey of Ashburn; his sons, Maredy Daniel “Dan” McCorvey, Jr. and Warren Hughes McCorvey, Sr., both of Ashburn and Charles V. “Vic”and his wife Marilyn McCorvey of Clewiston, FL. His brothers, J. Howell McCorvey of Ashburn and Reginald McCorvey of Anderson City. His sister, Lautrice Barry of Tifton. His grandchildren, Amy Patricia McCorvey and her husband Jimmy E. “Jay” Dailey of Abbeville; Willis Taylor McCorvey, Thomson; Warren Hughes McCorvey, Jr., Valdosta; Maranda Danette McCorvey and Meredith Irene McCorvey both of Clewiston, FL.

For those who wish in lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association, American Red Cross or their favorite charity.

The family will receive friends, Thursday evening from five until seven at Perry Funeral Chapel.
