Margaret O. Walker

Funeral Services for Margaret O. Walker, age 74, of Ashburn will be held Tuesday April 3, 2007 at 3:00 P.M. at the Ashburn First United Methodist Church with burial to follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Walker died Saturday at Tift Regional Medical Center after a long illness.

Mrs. Walker was a native of Jenkins County, Georgia the daughter of the late Ruben C. and Amelia Zeagler Overstreet and had been a resident of Ashburn for 49 years. She was a member of the Ashburn First United Methodist Church where she had served as Children’s Ministries Director and a member of the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Rose Garden Club, the Daughters of the American Revolution and the United Daughters of the Confederacy. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two daughters, Debbie Walker, 1957 and Donna W. McCombs, 2001 and granddaughters Megan Leigh and Rebecca Ann McCombs, 1981 and a great grandson Drake Walker, 2006.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years B. E. Walker, Ashburn and two sons, Mike and Janey Walker of Ashburn, and Ben and Debbie Walker of Ashburn, and a sister Judy Turner, Valdosta, Ga. and Nine grandchildren and Six Great-Grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Monday Evening at the funeral home Seven until Nine.
