Exa Owen Donahoo

Exa Owen Donahoo, 94, of Sycamore, Ga., died Friday, July 6, 2007 at Ashburn Health Care following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 8, 2007 at 2:30 P.M. at the Bethel Baptist Church with burial to follow in Prospect Cemetery. The family received friends from 7:00-9:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Chapel in Ashburn.

The daughter of the late George A. & Marietta Owen, she was born in Turner County. She was the widow of Leon Donahoo, Sr. to whom she had been married for 62 years before his death in 1999. She resided in Turner County all of her life and was a devoted wife and mother. She was a former public school teacher who taught primary grades in the Turner County School System for twenty-two years. She attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and Georgia Southern College for Women. She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church where she served as a former Sunday School Teacher.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her four sisters and two brothers.

She is survived by one son, Leon Donahoo, Jr. of Sycamore, one sister-in-law, Vera Owen of Crestview, Florida and several nieces and nephews.
