Joel "Joe" Gravitt

Funeral services for Mr. Joel “Joe” Gravitt, 52, of Arabi, GA. will be at 11:00 AM, Thursday, August 16, 2007 at Perry Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Mr. Gravitt passed away Monday at an Albany, GA hospital following a brief illness.

Mr. Gravitt was born in Turner Co., GA to the late Paulos Levi Gravitt and Mary Eunice Willingham Gravitt of Ashburn and was a member of The High Hill Baptist Church. He was a correctional officer with the Turner Probation Detention Center in Turner Co. Mr. Gravitt loved hunting, fishing and was an avid NASCAR fan.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his children, Joel Levi Gravitt, Ashburn, GA, Jess Terrell Gravitt, Arabi, GA and Josh Dennis Gravitt, Cordele, GA; his brothers, Roger Dale Gravitt and Jerry Russell Gravitt both of Ashburn, GA; a sister Paula G. Reid, Ashburn, GA.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from six until eight at Perry Funeral Chapel.
