Funeral Services for William G. “Billy” Monroe, age 67, of Ashburn will be held Tuesday , November 27, 2007, at 2:00 P. M. at the Ashburn First Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery with full military honors. Mr. Monroe died Sunday at Carl Vinton V. A. Medical Center, Dublin, Georgia.
Mr. Monroe was born in Moultrie, Ga. the son of the late Bill Greer & Katherine Beverly McKenzie Monroe. He was lifetime resident of Turner County retired from the United States Air Force. He was a member of the Ashburn First Baptist Church and loved hunting and fishing and loved going to church.
Survivors include his wife Runean Clark Monroe, Ashburn, one son Ronald D. (Lisa) Monroe, Ivey, Ga., a daughter Belinda M. (Mack) Watson, Arabi, grandchildren Brian Monroe, Anna Monroe, and Amanda Monroe and three stepgrandchildren Derek Shrewsbury, Heather Freeman and Ryan Schrewsbury and three sisters Beverly M. North, Ashburn, Kathy M. Basnar, Cordele and Minnie G. M. Brown, Sycamore.
He was preceded in death a granddaughter Marie Monroe, April 11, 1986 and a brother James Gordon Monroe, Jan. 6, 1965.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening six until eight.
