Cleo Youngblood Hasty, 93, died December 27, at Bethany Nursing Center in Vidalia, Ga. Service will be held at Perry Funeral Chapel at 2:30 P.M., Saturday, December 29, 2007. Visitation will be Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 P.M. and at 12:30 P.M. Saturday.
Born November 6, 1914, to Homer and Cora Hobby Youngblood, Mrs. Hasty live in Turner County most of her life. Mrs. Hasty was a talented seamstress who touched many lives through her sewing. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Herbie Hasty. Mr. and Mrs. Hasty were active in the Primitive Baptist churches in Turner County and surrounding areas.
Mrs. Hasty has been a resident of Bethany Nursing Center in Vidalia since June, 2000. There she has been attended by angels on earth in the Rose Garden, a wing for Alzheimer’s patients. In lieu of flowers, donations to that facility would be appropriate.
Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Gilreath (Jim) of Bonaire, Ga., granddaughters, Mary Kathryn Parham of Clearwater Beach, FL, and Donna McMillan of Sycamore, Ga.; great grandson, Connor McMillan and son-in-law, Bill Zaenglein of Augusta, Ga.
Mrs. Hasty was preceded in death by one daughter, Jane Hasty Parham Zaenglein, and one grandson, Woody Parham.
