Harold Whiddon

Funeral Services for Harold Whiddon, age 87, of 1809 N. Central Ave. Tifton will be held at 11:00 A. M. Friday at the Tift Ave. Missionary Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Oak Ridge Cemetery. Mr. Whiddon died Wednesday February 6, 2008 at Tift Health Care after short illness.

Mr. Whiddon was a native of Turner County, Ga. the son of the late Greene Elias & Alda Carroll Whiddon. He was a retired Law Enforcement Officer and a member of the Tift Ave. Baptist Church. He had been a resident of Tifton since 1996.

Survivors include his wife Myrtle C. Whiddon, Tifton a son Vernon E. Childs, Lizella, Ga., Sisters Maudine W. Taylor and Jerlene W. Taylor both of Ashburn and Christine W. Hardin, of Tifton. Five grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 A. M. until time of services on Friday at the Tift Ave. Baptist Church,
