Graveside funeral services for James C. McHugh, 93, of Ashburn will be held Friday, February 29, 2008 at 3:30 P.M. in Rose Hill Cemetery in Ashburn. Mr. McHugh died Wednesday at his residence following an extended illness.
Mr. McHugh was born in Wilcox County, Georgia and had resided in Ashburn since 1992. He was the son of the late Joe H. & Dicie Nipper McHugh. He retired after 30 years from Orkin Exterminating Company. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Ashburn First Baptist Church where he was a member of the Gilbert Branch Sunday School Class. His hobbies were fishing and telling stories.
Mr. McHugh is survived by his wife, Verlon Rainey McHugh of Ashburn and one son Jim (Virginia) McHugh of Stockbridge, Ga. He is also survived by two grandsons, Andy (Mandy) McHugh, Madison, Ga. and James (Sallie) McHugh, Sycamore, Ga. and one great grandson, Silas McHugh, Madison, Ga. Also surviving are four sisters, Joyce Reed, Rebecca, Ga., Irene Seigler, Betty Reece, and LaDonna Lundy all of Macon, Ga.
There will be no visitation. Please visit the family at the residence at 916 Peacock Drive, Ashburn, Ga.
