Floyd Harris

Graveside funeral services for Floyd Harris, 76, of Sycamore, Ga. will be held Sunday, July 20, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. at New Prospect Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery in Ashburn. Mr. Harris died Thursday at Ashburn Health Care following a lengthy illness.

Mr. Harris was born in Worth County, Georgia and was the son of the late Daniel L. and Nancy Layfield Harris. He was a retired truck driver and had lived in Turner County most of his life. He was a member of the First Assembly of God in Ashburn.

Mr. Harris is survived by his wife, Joyce McCook Harris, Sycamore, Ga.; his children, Kenneth Harris, Jacksonville, FL, Larita Tripp, Ashburn, Ga, Kay Robinson, Ty Ty, Ga., and Lynn Smith, Cherry Point, N.C. Also surviving are six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Mr. Harris is also survived by one brother, Raymond Harris, Kentucky, and three step brothers Carl Harris, Albany, Ga., Hayward Harris, North Carolina, and Wilbur Harris, Sylvester, Ga.; one sister, Lillian Scarbrough, Columbus, Ga. and two step sisters, Margaret Lawrence, Ft. Walton, Beach, Fl. and Evelyn Willis, Sylvester, Ga.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Saturday at Perry Funeral Chapel, Ashburn, Ga.
