Mary Childs Taylor

Graveside funeral services for Mary Childs Taylor, 84, of Cordele, Ga. will be held Monday, July 21, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at Rose Hill Cemetery in Ashburn. Mrs. Taylor died Friday in Cordele following a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Taylor was born in Turner County, Georgia and had resided most of her life in Ashburn. She was the daughter of the late Felix and Dula Seward Childs. She was a member of the Sycamore Baptist Church. She was a retired Ashburn Police Department radio dispatcher. She was the widow of Arthur Vivian Taylor who died in 1985. She was preceded in death by one son, James A. “J.T.” Taylor of Cordele, Ga.

Mrs. Taylor is survived by one sister, Sarah C. (Charles) Farmer of Sycamore and her daughter in law, Merilyn Danner Taylor of Cordele, Ga.

The family will receive friends Monday from 10:30-11:00 A.M. at Rose Hill Cemetery in Ashburn.
