David W. King

Graveside funeral services for David W. King, 67, a long time Williamsburg, Virginia resident will be held Friday, December 12, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Rebecca. Mr. King died Sunday, December 7, 2008 in Williamsburg.

Mr. King was the son of the late Jim and Emma A. King. He started his teaching career with Valdosta State University, LaValle and East Carolina before becoming Professor Emeritus at Christopher Newport University. He was an esteemed Professor and had also co-authored a college edition French textbook. He was a music lover and was inspired to play piano and the organ.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Richardson King in 2006 and one brother James “Jimmy” King in 2008.

Mr. King is survived by one son, Marc King and many close friends, colleagues, and neighbors.
