Funeral services for Alto McKinney, 70, of Ashburn will be held Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Chapel with burial to follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Ashburn, Ga. Mr. McKinney died Saturday at Tift Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.
Mr. McKinney was born in Laurel Hill, Florida and was the son of the late A.A. and Ella Elizabeth Hall McKinney. He was a retired heavy equipment mechanic at the Marine Logistic Supply Base in Albany. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Mr. McKinney was an avid fisherman.
He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Saylor McKinney of Ashburn and two sons and daughters-in-law: Kyle and Vickie McKinney; Robbie and Katrina McKinney both of Sycamore, Ga. He is also survived by four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Monday at Perry Funeral Chapel.
