Funeral Services for Ivey E. Youngblood, age 93, of 649 E. Monroe Ave. Ashburn will be held Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. at the Ashburn First Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Mr. Youngblood died Monday, December 29, 2008 after a sudden illness.
Mr. Youngblood was a native of Worth County, Georgia the son of the late Shirley and Lillie Mae Goff Youngblood. He was a member of the Ashburn First Baptist Church and a longtime member of the Gilbert Branch Sunday School Class. He was a charter member of the Wanee Lake Country Club and played a leading role in building and forming the country club. He was an avid golfer, camper and fisherman. He was a loving husband, father, granddaddy, family man and friend to all. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Marvin Youngblood, Cecil Youngblood and one sister Esma Britt.
He is survived by his wife Ruth Beard Youngblood of Ashburn who he married June 21, 1941 and one daughter Vicki (Dale) Hobby, Ashburn, four grandchildren Hugh Hardy, Jr., Heather (Arthur) Hill, Heath (Jessica) Hardy, Aaron Hobby and seven Great-Grandchildren, Ivey Hardy, Brady Hardy, Brittney Hardy, Zack Hill, Josh Hill, Jeremy Hill and Noah Hardy.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening at the funeral home from six until eight .
