Graveside funeral services for Roy Lumsden, 55, of Sycamore, GA. will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, January 29, 2009 in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Turner Co., GA. Mr. Lumsden passed away Sunday in Archbold Medical Center in Thomasville, GA.
Mr. Lumsden was the son of the late Doye Lumsden and Willie Harrell Joyner of Sycamore, GA. He was born in Tift County and lived in Turner Co. his entire life. He was a farmer and a member of the Inaha Baptist Church in Turner Co. Mr. Lumsden was a former board member of Tiftarea Academy, Inc, a member of the Chula Chuster Club and was a 1972 graduate of the Turner Co. High School class.
Survivors include his daughters and son in law, Rachel L. and Kyle Montfort, Sycamore, GA. and Kelly Lumsden, Charlotte, NC. His mother and step father Willie H. and Lowell “Bo” Joyner, his sister and brother in law Renee L. and Tom Weaver and his brother and sister in law Henry and Pat Lumsden all of Sycamore, GA. Also surviving is the mother of his children Julie Haman Lumsden, Ashburn, GA., and his nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from five until eight at Perry Funeral Chapel in Ashburn.
