Sue Barker Rose

Funeral services for Sue Barker Rose, 82, of Ashburn will be held at 2:30, Sunday, February 22, 2009 at the Ashburn First Baptist Church. Mrs. Rose passed away Thursday following a brief illness. Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Ashburn.

The daughter of the late Claude Young and Hattie Ellen Crowe Barker she was born in Turner Co., Ga. Mrs. Rose was a housewife and farmed with her husband until his death and a member of the Ashburn First Baptist Church, The Happy Sunday School Class and Primetimers. She was the widow of Richard McRae “Jack” Rose. She was also preceded in death by a sister Mary Dean Eller and her brothers, Robert, Kelley and Billy Barker.

Survivors include her children, Jane R. Moore and her husband, David, Ashburn, GA; Richard Rose and his wife Brenda, Tifton, GA and Tom Rose, Fayetteville, NC. Her grandchildren, Richard Toby Rose, Laura Lee Rose Dunn, Patrick Ireland, Alyson Ireland, Jennifer Perry, Michelle P. Gravitt, Bryan Rose and Chance Rose. Her great grandchildren, Tucker Rose, Jack Rose, Griffin Gravitt, and Garrett Gravitt. She is also survived by her sister Jean West, Sycamore, GA.

The family will receive friends Saturday evening from six until eight at Perry Funeral Chapel.
