Harold Shivers

Funeral services for Mr. Harold Shivers, 64, of Ashburn, GA will be held Saturday, March 14, 2009 at 2:00 PM in the Ashburn First Baptist Church. Mr. Shivers passed away Thursday in Macon, GA following a brief illness. Interment will follow in the Live Oak Cemetery in Turner Co. GA.

The son of the late J. Zeekes and Ira Delena Houston Shivers, he was born in Irwin Co., GA and had lived most of his life in Turner Co and was a farmer and senior partner of SOS Farms. He was a member of the Rebecca Baptist Church and was the teacher of the Young Adult Sunday School Class. He loved cooking, yard work, playing golf and fellowship with his family and friends. He had served in the Georgia National Guard. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a brother, James D. “Red” Shivers.

Mr. Shivers is survived by his wife, Edna Jean M. Shivers, Ashburn; his sons, Ben and Donna Shivers, Pitts, GA and Jason and Patsy Shivers, Tifton, GA; his grandsons, Zeke and Ethan Shivers, step grandchildren, Blake, Mallory, Crystal and Whitney; his step grandsons Hunter and Gavin; his sister, Faye and Roger Wilson, Ashburn, GA and a niece and several nephews.

The family will receive friends Friday evening from six until eight at Perry Funeral Chapel.
