Elbert Lee Bean

Funeral Services for Elbert Lee Bean, age 77, of 3190 Wardlow Road, Ashburn, GA will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday June 6, 2009, at the Ashburn First Baptist Church, Ashburn, GA. Additional services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, June 9, at Bridges Creek Baptist Church with interment to follow in the Baptist Hill Cemetery, near Caulfield, Mo. Mr. Bean died Tuesday at Palmyra Park Hospital after a short illness.

Mr. Bean was a native of Bakersfield, Mo. the son of the late Raymond & Alice Faye Atkinson Bean and was preceded in death by his son Carl Walter. He was a member of the Baptist Faith and was a retired Law Enforcement Officer serving as former Chief of Ashburn Police Dept. and Former Chief Deputy for the Turner County Sheriff’s Office.

Survivors include his wife Dorothy Joe Lane Bean, Ashburn and his children David Jack (Dawn) Bean, Ashburn; Debra JoAnn Bean (M. B.) Pilkinton, Sycamore, Ga.; Romona Gail Bean Claus, Mountain Home, Ark.; Karen Lee Bean (Dennis) Grant, Elizabeth, Ark. and Mary Alice (Johnny) Hauf, Mountain Home, Ark. and brothers Joe Roy (Juanita) Bean, West Plaines, Mo.; Russell Gene (Pauline) Bean, Donald Ray (Monnie) Bean, both of Caulfield, Mo.; Jerry Carlos (Peg) Bean, Bakersfield, Mo.; Douglas MacArthur (Bonnie) Bean, Caulfield, Mo.; James Henry (Mary) Bean, Belvidere, Ill.; and Lawrence Everette (Betty) Bean, Bakersville, Mo.; and thirteen Grandchildren and twenty four Great-Grandchildren.

Family will receive friends Friday evening from Six until Nine at Perry Funeral Chapel, 301 McLendon St., Ashburn, Ga.
