Humphrey L. "Larry" McCard

Funeral services for Mr. Humphrey L. “Larry” McCard, Jr., 66, of Ashburn, GA will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, June 14, 2009 in the New Hope Baptist Church in Turner Co. Mr. McCard passed away Friday at Tift Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Ashburn.

The son of the late Humphrey Lanier McCard, Sr. and Eleanor Frances Gilmore Griffin, he was born in Ashburn, GA and resided in Turner Co. all of his life. A retired supervisor with Homestead Homes, he was a member of the Methodist Faith. He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a Shriner and Master Mason.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ellen McCard, Ashburn, GA.; his children, Jonathan (Leah) Cassell, Tifton, GA; Sam (Amanda) McCard, Dusty Lee (Ashley) McCard, Teresa McCard all of Ashburn, GA; Gina (Jay) Russell, Calhoun City, MS; a brother and sister, Billy (Sandy) McCard and Angela (Wesley) Fiveash both of Ashburn, GA.; eleven grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Saturday evening from seven until nine at Perry Funeral Chapel in Ashburn.
