J. W. Guy

Funeral Services for J. W. Guy, age 91, of Lakeland, Florida will be held Saturday at 2:00 P. M. at Perry Funeral Chapel, Ashburn with burial to follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Mr. Guy died Wednesday January 13, 2010 after a brief illness.

Mr. Guy was a native of Worth County, Georgia the son of the late William Preston & Eddie Bell Kennedy Guy. Mr Guy lived most of his life in Turner Co., but moved to Lakeland about ten years ago to enjoy his retirement with his daughter and son in law, Willie Bell and Johnny Costine. He was a retired mechanic and farmer and was a member of the Webster Baptist Memorial Church in Lakeland. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son Johnny Guy, a daughter, Lou Ann Davis and a grandson Brian Guy two brothers Arthur Guy and George Guy and two sisters Frances G. Britt and Erma G. Mauldin.

He is survived by his children Earl (Renae) Guy, Sycamore, Ga., Ray Guy, New Port Richey, FL, Tony Guy, David Guy, Willie Bell G. (Johnny) Costine and Jackie G. Hardy all of Lakeland, FL. Brother and Sisters Charles Kenneth Guy and Helen Manus both of Ashburn and Marilyn Smith of Sumner, Ga. and 26 Grandchildren, 38 Great-Grandchildren,1 Great-Great-Grandchild and numerous neices and nephews.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:00 Noon until time of services at Perry Funeral Chapel.
