Celebrating the life of Ray Dewey, 68, of Cobb, GA will be held, Thursday, May 27, 2010 at 7:00 PM at Perry Funeral Chapel in Ashburn. Mr. Dewey passed away Monday at Crisp Regional Hospital following a brief illness.
The son of the late William and Dorothy Cary Dewey he was born in Haliburton Ontario and had lived in the Georgia area for over forty years. Affectively known as “Big Daddy” he loved working with his hands and was owner and operator of “Big Daddy’s Home Repair” in the South Georgia area. He was a member of the Baptist faith. As a small man with a big heart, he never met a stranger and was a friend to anyone he came in contact with. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Oremae Manek and his brothers, Douglas Dewey and Tyrone Dewey.
Survivors include his daughter and her husband Kim and Keith Massey, his grandson, Dillon Lane Massey all of Ashburn. His sisters, Diana (Jerry) Smith, Haliburton, Ontario; Judy (Dean) Beyak, Highland Grove, Ontario and Gail (Steve) Kelly, Oshawa, Ontario. He is also survived by his brothers, Don (Elaine) Dewey, Oshawa, Ontario; Perry (Wanda) Dewey, Cobourg, Ontario and Timothy-Mack Dewey, Toronto, Ontario.
