Harry Taylor

Graveside Funeral Services for Harry Taylor, age 87, of Ashburn will be held Sunday at 2:00 P. M. at the Rose Hill Cemetery West Section in Ashburn. Mr. Taylor died Thursday Sept. 9, 2010 at Tift Regional Medical Center after an extended illness.

Mr. Taylor was a native of Abbeville, Ga. the son of the late Thomas Pete and Jennie Lee Cowan Taylor. He was member of the True Church of Christ, Valdosta, GA. He served in the U. S. Marine Corp during World War Two and received a Purple Heart . He was retired from Serro Scotty Travel Trailer Co. were he was a cabinet maker. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son Randolph “Randy” Thomas Taylor in 1987.

Survivors include his wife Jerlene Whiddon Taylor, a son Harry Stephen Taylor both of Ashburn two brothers Bill Taylor, Rocky Mt., NC and Robert C. Taylor, Warner Robins, GA and three sisters Sarah Jean Shearer, Atlanta, GA and Mary Taylor and Barbara Anne Bobo both of Rome, GA and four grandchildren Michael Taylor, Barbara Lynn Taylor , Timothy Austin Taylor and Nathanal Taylor and two Great-Grandchildren.

Family will receive friends Sunday from 12:00 Noon until 1:30 P. M. at the funeral home.
