Evelyn Frances Davis Humphries

Graveside Funeral Services for Evelyn Frances Davis Humphries, age 95 of Ashburn will be held at 11:00 A. M. Saturday at the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Turner County. Mrs. Humphries died Thursday, November 4, 2010, at Tift Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.

Mrs. Humphries was born in Ashburn the daughter of the late John Dan and Letcher Cooper Davis. She was a resident of Atlanta for 39 years before moving back to Arabi in 1979. After the death of her husband Mr. Ray Turner Humphries in 1992 she moved to Ashburn. She graduated from Ga. State Women’s College and was a former School Teacher and Beautician and Homemaker. She was a member of the Ashburn First Baptist Church and the Samaritan Sunday School Class. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a sister Mary John D. McCorvey.

Survivors are her son John Ray Humphries, Cornelia, Ga. and two sisters Doris D. Lewis, Leesburg, Ga. and Dora D. Wisham, Ashburn, Ga.
