Graveside Funeral Services for Maxine Atkinson Brown Doud, age 87 of Ashburn will be held Saturday at 11:00 A. M. at Rose Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Doud died Wednesday, November 10, 2010, at Tift Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Doud was born in Amboy, Georgia the daughter of the late Joshua Morrow and Docia Reed Atkinson. She was a homemaker and former dietician of The Masonic Home of Florida, in St. Petersburg, FL. She was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Ashburn and was a long time resident of St. Petersburg, FL and Eatonton, GA before returning back to Ashburn in 1996. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husbands Walter M. Brown in 1972 and Bruce E. Doud in 1999. She was also preceded in death by a brother Samuel William “Buck” Atkinson and a sister Jewel Glenn and a niece Barbara Lathem.
Survivors include her sons James I. (Dianne) Brown, Eatonton, GA, Walter M. (Ruth Ann) Brown, Vero Beach, FL, Richard L. Brown, Ashburn, GA and her Grandchildren Katrina L. (Lloyd Meether) Brown, Salem OR, Wesley M. Brown and Robert M. Brown, both of Vero Beach, FL, Joshua Brown, Griffin, GA and Matthew Brown and Tyler Brown both of Jackson, GA, Sandy Sheppard and Rebecca Renaud both of Eatonton, GA and Daniel Slaughter, Senoia, GA and her Great Grandchildren Harris Isham Brown Meether, Salem, OR, Katelyn Brown and Kadance Brown, both of Jackson, GA and Payton Sheppard, Anabelle Sheppard, Kerrian Treadwell and Wyatt Renaud all of Eatonton, GA and a nephew Johnny Atkinson, Douglasville, GA.
