Funeral services for Carlton Greer “Bud” Williams, 83 of Ashburn will be held Monday, January 3, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at the New Prospect Free Will Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Williams died Friday, December 31, 2010 at his residence following an extended illness.
Mr. Williams was born in Macon County, Georgia and was the son of the late Morgan and Maude Stallings Williams. He was a retired welder and farmer and had lived most of his life in Turner County, Georgia. He was a Deacon and devoted member of the New Prospect Free Will Baptist Church. He was a veteran of World War II serving in Japan and the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by his wife, Loney Mae Ward Williams; his granddaughter, Missy Willingham Sunday, his grandson, Matt Willingham, and great grandson, Hunter Watson. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Lamar, Frank, Hinton, and Jerry Lee Williams and one sister, Edith W. Boedeker.
Survivors include two daughters and sons in law, Brenda & Charles Wllingham, Ashburn, Ga., Ann & Allen Lavender, Ashburn, Ga.; two sons and daughters in law, Jimmy & Linda Walker, Ashburn, Ga., Steve and Kathy Williams, Ty Ty, Ga.. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Sunday at Perry Funeral Chapel.
