Sheri Marie Black Smith

Funeral services for Sheri Marie Black Smith, 41, of Ashburn will be held Sunday, April 10, 2011, at 2:30 P.M. at the Ashburn First Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Ashburn, Ga. Mrs. Smith died Thursday at Palmyra Park Hospital in Albany following a sudden illness.

Mrs. Smith was born in Jacksonville, North Carolina and was the daughter of James Leon Black, Sr. and Peggy Jean Barry Black. She was a Pre-K Teacher with the Turner County Board of Education. She was a faithful member of the Grace Fellowship Church in Ashburn. She was preceded in death by one brother Jamie Black.

She is survived by her husband, James “Ernie” Smith, three sons, Daniel Smith, Andrew Smith and Peter Smith, all of Ashburn, Ga. She is also survived by her parents, James L. ”Jim” and Peggy B. Black of Ashburn, Ga.; her paternal grandmother, Laura Black, of Ashburn, Ga.; her Mother and Father-in-Law, William R. and Claudette Smith of Ty Ty, Ga. and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Chapel, Ashburn, Ga.
