Charles Franklin Mayo

Funeral services for Charles Franklin Mayo, 82, of Ashburn, GA will be held, at 2:00 PM, Sunday, May 22, 2011 at Trinity Baptist Church, Ashburn. Mr. Mayo passed away Thursday at his residence following an extended illness. Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery.

The son of the late Arthur Herbert and Lou Minshew Mayo, he was born in Fitzgerald, GA and had lived most of his life in Turner Co. Mr. Mayo was a retired security guard with Centra Pack and truck driver with the City Of Ashburn. He was a faithful member of Trinity Baptist Church and enjoyed playing music and his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Danny L. Mayo and two brothers, Clarence & Everret Mayo and one sister, Lucille Mayo.

Survivors include his wife, Yvonne Davison Mayo, his sons, David Mayo, Ricky Nelson and James H. Nelson, Jr. all of Ashburn; his daughter, Jocelyn Leigh Harper of Warwick, GA, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Saturday, from six until eight at Perry Funeral Chapel.
