Funeral service for Mrs. Janice Edmondson Brown, 73, of Ashburn, will be held Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church in Ashburn with burial to follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Sycamore, Ga. Mrs. Brown died Saturday at her residence following a brief illness.
Mrs. Brown was born in Miami, FL, the daughter of the late Enoch Pike “E.P.” and Margaret O’Neal Edmondson. She had lived in Turner County for over forty years. She was a homemaker and a retired Southern Baptist Missionary, serving in Eastern and Southern Africa for twelve years. Mrs. Brown was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church in Ashburn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Theron “Nip” Edmondson.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Edwin Brown, two sons and daughters-in-law, Greg and Ginger Brown, Todd and Vicki Brown, all of Ashburn, Ga., two daughters and son-in-law, Laurie Sullivan, Kathleen, Ga.; Suzanne and Rodney Wilson, Albany, Ga. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Brittany Brown, Logan (Beth) Hemphill, Matt Hobby Jackson Brown, Bridget Brown.
The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Chapel.
