Betty Alberson Day

Betty Alberson Day, 95, of Rebecca, passed away Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Southern Oaks in Tifton. 

Betty was born on October 9, 1928 in Turner County to the late Guy Otto and Lucile Fletcher Alberson. She retired from AT&T. Betty enjoyed seeing new places, having visited all 50 U.S. states as well as traveling abroad to Europe. She also enjoyed flowers. Betty was a devoted member of Bethel Baptist Church in Sycamore and loved feeding families for church events. Having a great sense of humor, Betty would do anything to make others laugh. She enjoyed playing dress up and being silly with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were her pride and joy. Betty enjoyed being active, playing intramural softball and basketball into her fifties. 

She is survived by her children, Tommy (Patricia) Day of Rebecca and Sherry Day of Jacksonville, FL as well as her sisters, Charnelle Reinhardt of Ashburn and Judy Payne of Lynchburg, Virginia. Betty leaves behind 6 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. 

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, James Clifford Day and several siblings, Judd Alberson, Burl Alberson, Jane Wooten, Donald Alberson, Reggie Alberson, and Jimmy Alberson. 

Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at 11:00AM at Bethel Baptist Church. Family will greet friends at 10:00AM until the hour of the service.
