Bobby Tyson Phelps

Bobby Tyson Phelps, 89, of Tifton, passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at Redmond Regional Medical Center in Rome.

Bobby was born in Sycamore, Georgia on April 29, 1933 to the late Mancy and Edna Inez Walls Phelps.  He was a wonderful father and husband and always took care of his family. He farmed for many years with his father before leaving the farming business to pursue other opportunities. 

He is survived by his son, Marty Phelps of Cave Springs.  He is also survived by his brothers, Billy (Geri) Phelps of Ashburn and Edward (Debbie) Phelps of LaGrange as well as his daughter-in- law, Sheila Phelps. He is also survived by his 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ann (Busbin) Phelps and his son, David J. Phelps, and his sisters, Helen Woodruff and Cortez Manning, as well as an infant sister. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 6, 2022 at Inaha Baptist Church in Sycamore. The family will greet friends in the church sanctuary from 1:00PM to 2:00PM. Interment will be at Inaha Cemetery.
