Bonnie Faye Ireland McCaffery

Bonnie Faye Ireland McCaffery, 96, of Thomasville passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at Archbold Medical Center.

Bonnie was born on November 27, 1927 in Valdosta to the late Herbert Greenberry and Eva Lea Benford Ireland. She was a member of Dawson Street Methodist Church in Thomasville. Bonnie spent her career working in civil services, primarily at military bases in California and Georgia. She retired from the Marine Corps Logistics Base in Albany as an Accounting Supervisor. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Larry (Deanna) Shealy of Louisville, Kentucky; sister, Dot Coker of Sycamore; grandchildren, Derek Savelle, Lauren (Vaughn) Stewart, Ethan Shealy and Burgan Shealy; great-grandchildren, Ally (Tae) Savelle, Thomas Savelle, Sarah Stewart, Sophia Stewart and Sam Stewart; great-great grandchild, Leo Jaikaew.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Elizabeth Joann Shealy Brooks; siblings, Roger Ireland, Harrell Ireland, Helen Hancock and Hazel Childs.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at Rose Hill Cemetery.
