Doyle Ceola Stanford

Doyle Ceola Stanford, 91, of Rebecca passed away Sunday, February 16, 2025 at Tift Regional Medical Center.

Doyle was born on April 5, 1933 in Rebecca to the late Leon Ceola and Rosa Frances Miller Stanford. He was a member of Rebecca United Methodist Church where he served as church treasurer and men’s Sunday School Teacher. He retired from the United States Postal Service where he was Postmaster. He also served his country with honor in the United States Army. Doyle loved to fish and work in his yard. Above all, he loved his family and he will be missed greatly, especially by his wife of 56 years, who was the love of his life.

He is survived by his wife, Nell Gibbs Stanford of Rebecca; son, Gary R. (Beth) Walker of Rebecca; grandchildren, Courtney (Jason) Walker and Garrett (Alexandria) Walker; great-grandchildren, Lane Walker and Winn Walker.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Rufus Stanford, Wilburn Stanford, Donald Stanford and Edith Holloway.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at Rebecca United Methodist Church with a private, family interment to follow. The family will greet friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at Rebecca United Methodist Church.
