E. L. Sprayberry

E. L. Sprayberry, 83, of Huntsville, Alabama, formerly of Ashburn, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at Hospice Family Care in Huntsville, Alabama.

Affectionately known as Spray or Sprayberry, he was born on April 18, 1941 in New Site, Alabama to the late Elza Thomas and Edith Cotney Sprayberry. He was also preceded in death by his wife Jetta Sprayberry, sister Johnnie Fay Kelley. He endeavored in many career paths from selling insurance, Fertilizer, managing chemical plants, but enjoyed ending his career being self-employed operating a plumbing and electric business. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Sprayberry also served his country with honor in the United States Air Force Reserves. He served as the Hasan Shrine Potentate in 2016 and was a member of the Sycamore Lodge #210. Sprayberry also enjoyed fishing. He enjoyed all types of sports from the Braves to his favorite college team, Alabama. But by far his favorite past time was fishing.

He is survived by his daughter, Lyn (Elbert) Sprayberry-Cude of Huntsville, Alabama; son, Jeff (Janice) Sprayberry of Georgetown, Tennessee; grandchildren, Lauren (Josh) Jolley, Rebecca (Matthew) Simmons, Will (Whitley) Sprayberry, Colton Cude (Hunter Army Airfield) , Dakota Cude and Abigail Cude; great grandchildren, Addy Jolley, Leah Jolley, Nolan Jolley, Elijah Simmons and Elenor Simmons.

A graveside memorial service will be held Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 2:30 PM in Bethel Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1:00 PM until 2:15 PM Saturday, March 22, 2025 in the sanctuary of Bethel Baptist Church.
