Emmitt Monroe Britt

Emmitt M. Britt, 91, of Franklin, GA passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 in Franklin. 

Emmitt was born on September 1, 1931 in Ashburn, GA to the late Ozzie Emmitt and Florie Murphy Britt. After serving in the Army, Emmitt moved to Lakeland, FL and worked in the food business. He owned and operated Britt’s Service Station in Ashburn for many years. He always loved visiting his favorite “fishing holes.” Emmitt was of the Baptist faith. 

He is survived by his sons, Gary (Jevona) Britt of Franklin, GA, Norman Britt of South Hill, VA, Franklin Britt of Statesboro, GA, and a daughter, Teresa Jane Cost of Nashville, TN. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren,16 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.  

In addition to his parents, Emmitt is preceded in death by a son, Keith Britt and siblings, Bobby Britt, Joel Britt, Junior Britt, Hazel Altman, Eloise Little, and Bill Britt.   

A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 7, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Perry Funeral Chapel. Friends can greet the family on the day of the service from 10:00 AM until the hour of services.
