Gordon Cox

Gordon Cox, 66, of Ashburn passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at his residence.

Gordon was born in Worth County on June 3, 1958 to the late A. J. and Myrtie Powell Cox. He was a farmer having worked for Dan King Farms. Gordon loved hunting and fishing. He also loved working on the farm. Gordon loved his family and spending time with them, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Lydia Cox of Ashburn; daughter, Hannah (Josh) Rousey of Tifton; brothers, Ray (Brenda) Cox of Ashburn and Reggie Cox of Sylvester; brother-in-law, Rufus Powell of Sylvester; grandchildren, Lena Rousey and Lane Rousey. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews, an adopted grandchild, Bristol Engel (AKA Beastie) and his recliner companion, Lilah-bug.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Virginia Powell and Carolyn (Cowboy) Douglas.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 10:00 Am Saturday, June 22, 2024 at New Bethel Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery in Sylvester.
