Grady Lester Speight, Jr.

Grady Lester Speight, Jr.,84, of Ashburn passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at his residence.

Grady was born on April 10, 1938 to the late Grady Lester, Sr. and Blonnie Ward Speight. He retired as a Federal State Inspector after thirty-seven years. After retirement he enjoyed his true passion of cattle farming. He was known for being a hard worker and keeping an immaculate farm. He was a loving father and grandfather. Grady was also a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Rebecca.

He is survived by his wife, Sue Speight of Ashburn; sons, Doug (April) Ellis of Rebecca and Mark (Cristi) Ellis of Ashburn; sisters, Annette Wilson of Sycamore and Vivian Whittle of Sycamore; grandchildren, Alex Ellis and John Connor Ellis.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, William Robert Speight.

A graveside funeral service will be held Saturday, July 30, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Rebecca. The family will greet friends in the church sanctuary from 9:00 AM until 9:45 AM.
